Hi
For my first casemod posted on this site, I will be modding my 800D. I will make some modifications on the case it self, some of them are already done, and of course give the case an other colour. And since my GTX570 has been sold last week, I bought a GTX680 and i am still waiting for it. Cause there's a 680 in it, i call it the Destroyer and cause it's main colour is going to white, it is the White Destroyer. By the end of this year I am hoping to put an Ivy bridge in it, but for now i'll have to suffy with my old i7 860 and the Asus Maximus III Formula.
The main colours in this build/mod are black, white and red.
What I am also hoping to do is putting a Watercoolingsystem in it, maybe sponsored I don't know, we'll see.
Here are all the pics of what I've already done.
Part 1: The stripping
The motherboard is totally stripped out and as you can see I also detached the HotSwap bay.
Junk (fans and wiring from the case). Case is ready to be painted.
The motherboard tray.
Giant space created by removing the HotSwap bay.
Part 2: Some paintjobs
One sidepanel painted!
Top and motherboard are painted in a nice matt white colour.
Part 3: Caseking order

Caseking Order arrived with all the new fans and sleeved wires.

New clear window for the 800D.

Red LED Xigmatek fans. (120 and 140mm)

Grill for the sidepanel to add some airflow.

Sleeved cables from Bitfenix.

Dust filters.
Part 4: Installation of the Caseking Goodies

Most of the fans are in place.

A white sticker I made myself, looks cool.

Let there be light!

Part 5: What are you doing with that grill?

That's what i'm doing with the grill, maybe i can fit a 240mm rad behind that.
So that's all what i have till now. Hope you like and enjoy it!
Also I will be putting some video's on youtube. (my channel is me29011993, http://www.youtube.com/user/me29011993?feature=mhee)
You can also check out my previous mod over here (in dutch) :http://nl.hardware.info/forum/threads/219125-CiP-Autobot-s-for-life! and there is also a video on youtube about the final product.
Thx!

Awesome. Looking forward to the watercooling ;)
For painting, do you sand down the parts first etc?
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Yep, sanding, primer, sanding, first layer of the colour, sanding, another layer, sanding, another layer, and then i putt on some varnish.
And about the watercooling, that's still a maybe depends money (winning the lottery would help) or sponsorship, cause i also bought a car which I need to clean up first.
YS, smile
Ah you sand again every time? I mostly just see sanding once and then the primer and a couple of coloured layers.
http://www.ccreviews.eu
No sponsorship from EK, so the watercooling has to wait, maybe I can look for a local shop......
YS, smile
Good weather here in Belgium, so let the painting begin, muahahahahaha (maniacal laugh)!
YS, smile
yeah finaly no rain :P I'm still waiting for my paint to arrive from it-service :)
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Got some new ideas for the panel of the hotswaps.
Probably gonna do a variant of the second or the first one, the third one is too small (the numbers), i think.
YS, smile
My paint always comes from my dads work, which i can get cheaper through him. So it's about 3.5 euro for a spraycan of Motip of 400ml for colours and around 3 euro's for black and white of 500ml.
So with that i'm pretty lucky to have a dad that's working at Eriks!
YS, smile
Very nice :) Also nice Youtube channel, you have got yourself a new subscriber :)
New parts came in today, a white memory kit and a SSD!
More to come!
YS, smile
sweet :)

Just tested both my Agility 3 and my new m4. And gotta say the M4 rules plus i think my agility 3 is damaged of some kind don't now how probably gonna rma it.
YS, smile
I think the controller died. Many people have problems with the Sandforce controller.
My case: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/3375/img0288hc.jpg
Just a little update for today, probably a bigger one next week.
I was preparing the front panel for a paintjob, when I noticed something, i haven't noticed before....
(For the ones that do not see it, you can put baycovers in the top slot and where the door is for the hotswapbays.)
And here a sneak peek of what my upcomming youtube video is about...
See you in a couple of days.
YS, smile
Do I see a docking station from Sharkoon there? I'm gonna be reviewing one soon :D
Also ... GTX 670!!
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Indeed there's also a docking station it is the 2.5/3.5 inch (2 in 1) Usb 3.0 one.
YS, smile
yeah I think that's the one i'm going to be reviewing :)
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Saw the photo, I think it's an other one, mine is just one spot for a harddrive (or a 2.5 or a 3.5 , that's what i ment by 2 in 1) and I saw that yours has place for 2 didn't it?
YS, smile
yes indeed you saw that correctly :)
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Here the unboxing video of the GTX 670 is finished: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mTArxggAk8&list=UUpKr7Rn6e6EG0lO71nMXF3g&index=1&feature=plcp
Hope you all like it, only thing that sucks is that I use Movie Maker for editing and (don't know if you can change it) the black lines around the video suck, so maybe a suggestion of a other video-editing program?
YS, smile
Nice video. Try Sony Vegas for editing. I bought the cheapest version of it (Sony vegas Movie Studio HD). Works like a charm and just like the most expensive version .. :P
http://www.ccreviews.eu
The case is almost finished, need to paint the top again cause the colour don't match any longer, and probably going to put in some leds in the front and gonna tweak the ROG logo in front cause it's not perfect but it can go through. I am also thinking about making more then one door for the hotswap bay, since I have enough red plexi. So now it's waiting for the hardware, already have the 670 and the memory and ssd, but still waiting for the Maximus V Formula to come out. And i'm also looking for sponsors for the watercooling components.
So here are the photo's:
The door of the hotswapbays, made with toothpicks (the hinch) and red plexi.
Accidently carved the ROG logo in my wooden desk, but it's just my workdesk so no problems but still it looks cool!
Red plexi door with ROG logo (Not the best carving but gonna make a new one this week)
The door from the back.
That's all folks!
See you next time!
Hope you like it, cause I do :) !
YS, smile
Awesome, I'm looking forward to the final steps of this mod. :)

Hi,

So here I have a small update.
I got a present from my dad, which I didn't expect and what I can pretty much use in my further "carreer" as modder.
But first some pictures of the frontpanel with my desk light behind.
I haven't yet improved it, didn't have the time.
What I did do, is putt some white sticker on the Crucial M4, just to see how it will look. Only on one side.
And now the present that I got from my father, thx dad!
Already did some engravings on a junkpiece of plexi, but I don't have any pictures of that yet.
I also made a sketch of an idea that I had for a reservoir for the watercooling.
Don't know yet if I will make this or not.
That is it for today.
I have placed my order for the Maximus V Formula and a 3770K so now it's just waiting till it arrives.
So see you the next update!
Hope you like it!
YS, smile
Very nice indeed, I'm loving this mod. And you must love your dad for such an awesome gift! A dremel is one of the if not The most important tools a modder can have ;)
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Indeed, only got to look for a smaller engravingtool and the tool you can put on for cutting circles and straight pieces.
Morgen naar den Brico maar eens rijden!
YS, smile
Update coming soon!
Little sneak peak:
YS, smile
So here we are with the update as promised.
Been engraving a bit, it's not yet the best, but I'm getting there, just need an other engraving cutter (the 0.8mm).
But the shop that has this is closed so gonna have to wait till next week.
Below some pictures of my experiments:

I also made a cover for the green leds on the pcb of the 670. Green does not fit this build/mod so made a little red plexi cover.
Don't know yet if it will be good, but we will see this weekend.
And of course the intel i7 3770K came in. And also my motherboard the Asus Maximsu V Formula.
The V is heavier then my old III.
So that's it for today, hope you enjoyed and I will see you next week or this weekend.
Maybe gonna start working on the res.
What do you guys think, make the res or buy one?
YS, smile
I think you should at least give it a try to make one ;)
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Here's a little update.
Gonna make the reservoir myself, so just made the order for the plexi.
And here is the unboxing video of the 3770k :p
http://youtu.be/0Yf1uI3ap_o
YS, smile
Cool. I saw the video earlier. Apparently I was subscribed to your channel ;)
http://www.ccreviews.eu
I know you are!
YS, smile
YS, smile
I first thought the red plexi looked good. But of course I only see it on picture here. Do those LED's get hot though? I assume not very? Check it out though when putting plexi in front of them ;)
How's that EFI btw? My brother has it on his new PC. It looks cool but he told me that it still needs some tweaking and upgrading or something.
http://www.ccreviews.eu
The EFI is cool, but all new to me, need to learn a lot, the first time it was difficult to safe , didn't know how to do that. But yeah haven't used it a lot now , so have to wait a while before I really know if it needs tweaking or not.
And the leds don't get that hot, it's touchable by hand.
YS, smile
Didn't make any progress yet, been benchmarking a little and made some videos:

Is that circle cutter a little loose or something and is it that why it's not perfect? Or really because you have to do it slow? Also which bit do you use on the Dremel with that?
http://www.ccreviews.eu
I don't think it's loose and I used the bit that came with the set, but if you look up the video's, the man in them does it reeeeeeeeally slow, so I guess it needs do be done reeeeaaaaaallllly slow. But I will try again this weekend, maybe I need to get more clamps on the plexi so it doesn't move an inch.

Finally examinations are done,
SO
Lets get down to business!
YS, smile
So here we are with a little update.
I tried again cutting a circle with the Dremel, and it went better this time. I had some garbage acrylic from my father's work, for practicing the art with the dremel.
I also made an other sketch of the res, cause the first one is not good. The part on the motherboards side is too thin/small, so I'm just going to make a big cut out.
My current setup
Lots of free acrylic
Sketch of the res v2
Sketch of res v2 in 800D
So that's it for today. Tomorrow I'm going to see what I have to buy for the watercooling setup and what I still need for modding, and then it's shopping time.
See you next update!
YS, smile
Awesome! are you going to make the res out of that acrylic then?
http://www.ccreviews.eu
No , that's just garbage acrylic, it's full of scratches, I'm buying new acrylic, maybe pre cut in the right pieces, maybe not, we'll see, depends on the price.
YS, smile
I ordered all the stuff I need and uploaded a new video on the tube about how bad the stock cooler is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5r_-MgATIQ&list=UUpKr7Rn6e6EG0lO71nMXF3g...
YS, smile
I tested my intel stock cooler on my i7 2600k aswell. I was amazed actually at some points, but didn't dare using it during overclocking.. :P
http://www.ccreviews.eu
YS, smile
Nice to see It-service has also likes your project ;) And with reason, it's starting to look really sweet now! And btw yeah, gotta love caseking for the candy. They always do that.. :P
http://www.ccreviews.eu
Update coming soon, parts came in, but how

Check my facebook page for the pictures of the box and to see the pictures the fastest!
https://www.facebook.com/swinoxcomputers
YS, smile
Really typical. I get many boxes like that; luckily never had damage because most companies know they have to package everything very well because of this specific reason.
