#31: Enermax Hoplite case Review

This is a case that you can like and perhaps even dislike at the same moment. Its design is very nice and cool. Especially the Multi LED fan that they include as front intake fan. But unfortunatly there are a few things that didn't reach my expectations.

Watch the video review for all the info about the case's specifications, build, and also my conclusion with personal opinion. Here's the full list with pro's and con's though:

Pro's:

  • Tool less design;
  • Hot swap bays;
  • Two USB3 connections on the front I/O;
  • Lots of room to work while installing the motherboard;
  • Dustfilters;
  • Awesome intake fan at the front.

Con's:

  • The cable management is ok, but there's almost no room behind the M/B tray;
  • No sidepanel dustfilter;
  • Disposable expansion slot covers;
  • No possibility to install a 3.5" drive in the 5.25" drive bays.

Hot Swap

Hey,

The hot swaps work under Win 7 directly? I mean, do I need to shutdown the PC before connecting or disconnecting a hard-drive from any of the 3 hot swaps? Or do I need to change something in the BIOS? I think now its set something like "SATA as IDE".

The mother-board is a 2011 model with 6 SATA 6G/s ports on AM3+ AMD 990 chipset.

Thanks
